Chelsea still a work in progress admits Antonio Conte

Despite all the missing players, Mourinho believes that Chelsea always comes through in the transfer window, and that will solve their problems.

Tottenham: Whether Spurs can build the previous two seasons, after coming so close to the title behind Leicester and Chelsea, is uncertain.

Antonio Conte has endured a hard post-season at Stamford Bridge, seeing Nemanja Matic leave for United while his own transfer targets such as Romelu Lukaku have gone elsewhere.

Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are suspended, while numerous young players Conte used when his squad was stretched last season have been allowed to leave.

He must come up with a team and a tactic that at least avoids a second defeat of the season, and one to a local rival and title challenger that would so deepen the mood of disquiet around Stamford Bridge after the 3-2 home defeat to Burnley.

Tottenham 2-0 Chelsea - Chelsea are unlikely to be as poor at the back as they were against Burnley last weekend. They failed to win there in their last four visits, while Mauricio Pochettino's side went unbeaten on their patch last season, winning 17 of their 19 matches.

But ahead of the trip to Swansea, Mourinho insists Chelsea, who play Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday, are still favourites.

Spurs flopped at Wembley last term after moving their Champions League home games there and will play all of their home matches at the stadium this season while White Hart Lane is rebuilt.

"When we played Juventus it was a little bit like 'we are going to play at Wembley and it is a massive test for us.' Against the runners-up in the Champions League, a massive test for us, and after the game we knew we could do well, play well and respect our philosophy.

It's right not to put Chelsea to be a favorite", Conte said. "It is for some reason they were the champions", he said.

A 1-1 draw is a safe option at 6/1 odds, but we are backing a 2-1 home win as our betting prediction.

Asked if Chelsea share his vision, he said: "I have the vision to work".

The Blues will be delighted with not playing at White Hart Lane.

"Every manager has a right to say in the media what they want".

Despite definitely having Spurs as favourites going into the game I must give a nod to Alvaro Morata who I was really impressed with last week. Since it would seem nearly impossible to sustain that regardless of how well they adjust to Wembley, they're going to have to make up for it in another way. With Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas guaranteed to be out, and Tiemoue Bakayoko and Pedro struggling for fitness, he has to already figure out something different for his side.

"We're very positive, his evolution is good".

Tottenham are leaving it late to conduct their business - a strategy that might have to change in future if Premier League clubs vote to end their transfer window before the start of the season.
