Anthony Martial bid rejected by Man Utd

The report suggests that United have wasted little time in turning down the offer from last season's Premier League runners-up, with Jose Mourinho clearly rating the France worldwide and having a role for him at Old Trafford this season.

Given his precarious position within the United starting team along with his obvious talent, Martial - the most expensive teenager in world football - has been subject to a bid by a rival Premier League club.Tottenham.

Martial enjoyed a terrific first season with United, but struggled under Jose Mourinho during his second year at Old Trafford.

Although Mourinho has insisted on numerous occasions that he intends to keep the French global at Old Trafford, it hasn't stopped some reports this summer that he could be set to leave.

Manchester United rejected offers from Inter and Tottenham Hotspur for Anthony Martial, claim RMC in France.

Monaco had been minded to sell at the earlier price, but lost other players and became determined not to lose Martial to Tottenham or anyone else, and that's why it took such a huge effort from Manchester United late in August.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been looking for a new wide forward and missed out on signing Christian Benteke, who opted to extend his stay with Crystal Palace.
