Ant McPartlin Reveals Extent Of Drug Issues After Completing Rehab Stint

Ant was speaking to The Sun in his first interview since entering rehab.

Ant also revealed how he binged on tramadol, morphine and alcohol - which led him to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Ant was not diagnosed as an alcoholic although he admitted he has taken a break from the booze and he plans to go without for a little longer, but that he is looking forward to having a pint - even joking about the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

"I was at the point where anything - prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs - I would take", he said. "The doctors told me, "You could have killed yourself", he told the newspaper.

The 41-year-old I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here presenter said he was left terrified after an "insane" pills binge almost killed him.

"I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really hard time", he continued", he said.

After two months in rehab, Ant has now finished his treatment and is clean of all drugs except paracetamol.

The star, who has battled depression, revealed that his dependence on prescription drugs began when he suffered a knee injury in 2014. It was to the point of seeing things in the garden and still the pain was getting worse'. "So I'm very grateful". I think he'll be fine.

His alcohol consumption had also increased and he admitted that he had clinical depression and would sometimes be unable to get out of bed. Dec's his best friend'.

Soon enough, the celebrity was visiting multiple independent private doctors to get more tramadol prescribed: "From the old lady who lies about her Valium supply to someone like me who was necking tramadol to the point of psychosis, in the end it's the same thing".

The Britain's Got Talent host is said to have become a "virtual recluse" as he hid his secret battle, only leaving his home to head to film TV projects in a bid to cope with his pain.

Taking to the duo's joint Twitter last month, Lisa wrote: 'Completely overwhelmed by all your love & support it means so much.

Dec, 41, also expressed his gratitude to their beloved followers at the hard time, and admitted his right hand man will be incredibly "touched" by their support. "Before we know it we'll see your cheeky face back on the telly again", replied another.
