Annabelle: Creation Continues Its Surprise Run At The Box Office

It is a sequel to 2014's Annabelle and the fourth installment of The Conjuring series.

According to Box Office India, the horror movie has already earned Rs. 14 crore nett plus, including paid previews. And it is heading to garner more in this weekend.

Sanberg, who is also the director for horror flick Lights Out, has one of the three Annabelle dolls from the movie.

WB's WWII action film Dunkirk held third spot in another wan weekend for Australian exhibitors, its $1.109 million pushing its total box office beyond $20 million ($20.695 million). After the successful box office launch of New Line Cinema's latest horror offering Annabelle: Creation, Warner Bros just announced that James Wan and producer Peter Safran's Conjuring film "universe" has reached the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

And while this doll was surely an evil one, Annabelle's look was transformed into the sinister creation that sparked two spin-offs. And now this time it expected to break the records of the earlier Annabelle collection.

James Wan and David F. Sandberg are filmmakers now at the centre of two highly anticipated, relatively new cinematic universes - the individual nature of which could not be more different from each other. It features Anthony LaPaglia, Miranda Otto, Talitha Bateman, and Stephanie Sigman in the prominent roles. Going by the current trend with weekend shows picking up the total opening weekend collections of Annabelle: Creationare expected to hit double digits easily. There are no comic books upon which these films are based - although there are some allegedly "true stories". Twelve years later, in 1995, the Mullins open their home to furnished protection for sister Charlotte and six girls left homeless by the closing of their orphanage.
