Newly appointed head coach Ravi Shastri will be meeting the four-member committee of the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the selection of the support staff for Team India.

"There have been suggestions that the CAC has exceeded its ambit in going with Mr. Khan and Mr. Dravid and that these two legends of Indian cricket have been foisted on the head coach". We have set up a committee and they will speak to them (CAC), communicate with them after talking to Shastri.

Ravi Shastri was named the new coach of the Indian cricket team on July 11, after the three-member CAC decided against deferring the decision to a later date - so as to consult the captain Virat Kohli before naming a coach. Also, Shastri has made it clear that he is okay with Zaheer planning the course of action for the bowlers in the team and someone like a Bharat Arun implementing them on a daily basis.

CoA member Diana Edulji and BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary are the other members of the Committee which will meet on July 19.

"The committee will first meet on Tuesday to look into the appointments of the assistant coaches before taking a final call on their salaries and contracts. The CAC has been constituted to recommend the names of the coaches and the COA will decide about the appointment and other details (consultants, support staff and nature of contracts)", said a CoA member.

Meanwhile, the CoA has approved the appointment of Shastri as India's new head coach.

"Three appointments which are core to the coaching team have been decided". Also we did inform you over the phone along with Rahul Johri and Amitabh Choudhary of all that transpired immediately after the meeting was over. "A recommendation has been made and the CoA has to act on the recommendation, that recommendation will be acted upon in consultation with the head coach", he added. The CoA was asked about CAC's letter which expressed "pain" at the perception that Zaheer and Dravid were forced upon Ravi Shastri, Vinod Rai said, "CAC has done a lot of correspondences with the CEO and with me also".

But one thing is certain. You will be well aware that we put our heart and soul into the process, approaching a task made delicate by the recent developments with a clear head and with the sole aim of providing the Indian team with the best resources possible to become the world beaters they are capable of being. Similarly, an advertisement for managers of A team and U-19 team will also be released.
