Oklahoma State senior Tre Flowers was one of 45 names listed on the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award watch list released on Friday. The Jim Thorpe Award is presented to the best defensive back in college football.

A native of Bakersfield, California, Cotton-Moya led the team with three takeaways and tied for the team lead with two interceptions. Thorpe was a running back, passer, kicker, and defensive back. The award was established in 1986 and is named after history's greatest all-around athlete, Jim Thorpe.

While they didn't make the watch list for the Thorpe Award, the Trojans feature another pair of defensive backs who could force their way into the Thorpe conversation with a big enough step forward this season - Marvell Tell and Chris Hawkins. He also played professional baseball and won Olympic gold medals in the decathlon and pentathlon.

For the second time in two days, a college football national awards organization is taking note of San Jose State University senior cornerback Andre Chachere. The Jim Thorpe Award Banquet will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Oklahoma.

Three finalists will be named on November 20 and invited to attend the annual College Football Awards Show on December 7 in Atlanta.
