Storms to Start Week, Heat to End Week

A weak front will provide some lift and we could see afternoon storms. This will mean for Monday we are going to keep higher rain chances in the forecast, but the greatest coverage will be along and south of the front. The heat index may rise to 100.

Expect lows tonight near 73 and light winds. Starting Tuesday and continuing through the rest of week, many of us are looking at afternoon highs in the mid 90s with feel like temps between 100-105.

An excessive heat watch is advanced notice that there is the potential for a prolonged period of hot temperatures and high humidity. It will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 99.

Thursday. Sunny and hot, with a high near 102.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 76.

Highs in the low 90s are expected Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97, the weather service said, and a south southwest wind of 6 to 8 miles per hour.

Thursday Night. Mostly clear, with a low around 81.

There is a 30% chance of afternoon showers and storms, though those south of US 82 are most likely to see the rain.

Saturday night, the low will be about 75, according to the weather service. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 102. Sunday we will continue to crank up the heat with temperatures reaching the mid 90s and feels like temperatures in the triple digits.
