New Liverpool signing secures work visa

Liverpool continue to pursue new signings this summer, having already brought in winger Mohamed Salah and striker Dominic Solanke.

The Guinea global has been frequently linked with a move to Anfield this summer, but RB Leipzig showed their determination by turning down the mega-money bid, according to German daily Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo's Chris Beesley).

With Klopp not identifying any alternatives, as per the report, it's clear that he really wants Keita to help complete his squad as the Reds will hope to be competing on four fronts this season provided they get through the qualifying round of the Champions League.

According to Bild, an improved bid is expected and there are whispers from sources within the German club that they may be willing to do a deal if Liverpool do now improve on their initial bid-or if Keïta hands in a transfer request and forfeits his loyalty bonus.

Salah, who joined the Reds in a club-record deal for around £36million from Roma earlier this summer, was unable to make his first appearance for his new side in Wednesday's friendly at Tranmere due to a visa issue.

RB Leipzig have been consistent in their no sale stance this summer and they are not for turning.

Leipzig are on the cusp of their maiden UEFA Champions League campaign this coming season after finishing second to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga last term, with the club striving to keep hold of key man Keita ahead of their European bow. "Balance in favour of a LFC move has tipped".

"Last season he scored goals and set goals up; but I think he's best with a good midfielder next to him holding".
