Plot details have yet to be revealed. As you can see above, the new poster is remiscent of previous seasons (specifically Asylum, Freak Show and Hotel), all of which feature an unknown woman stressing the theme of each season.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy shared earlier the next installment of FX's horror anthology was inspired by the 2016 presidential election.

American Horror Story was renewed for two more seasons back in January and the series will premiere its first episode on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10 PM ET/PT on FX.

Paulson and Evan are playing Ally and Kai in the upcoming season, both of whom were featured past year.

"Well, I don't have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through".

The video eventually referred fans to a website where a similar video played.

John Carroll Lynch has yet to be confirmed, but fingers crossed he reprises his role. Given this - and the constant comparisons of Washington, a circus - it's no mystery why bees and clowns are the two most prominent images being used in advertising for AHS: Cult.

If these teasers are anything to go by, we can expect Cult to cross over with season 4's Freak Show, which featured Twisty in all his horrifying glory.

There have been other character crossovers in the past, mainly involving Sarah Paulson, and we know that all the seasons are linked in some capacity, so it's inevitable that season 7 will continue to connect the dots.
