Florida Lottery: Teen wins $26k salary for life

Daniela Leon Ruz is just 18 years old, but she will receive $26,000 a year for the duration of her life after claiming the winning ticket at the Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Florida Lottery officials said Daniela Leon Ruz, 18, made a decision to claim her winnings in annual payments of $26,000 for each year of her life.

She scored one of six top prizes: $500 a week.

The Florida Lottery said Tuesday that Annefrances Holahan, of Fort Myers, won $10 million after buying a winning ticket from Buddy Boys Country Store, located at 8430 Country Road 13 North in St. Augustine.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Ruz chose to receive her winnings in weekly payouts totalling $26,000 annually before taxes instead of taking the one time lump sum of $410,000.
