DGP for prisons visits Parappana Agrahara jail before inquiry officials arrive

Roopa came into limelight for exposing irregularities in the jail.

She had also raised doubts over the role of Sathyanarayana Rao in the VIP treatment case saying that even after her complaint reached him, Sasikala's special kitchen continued to run. Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin of a multi-crore stamp paper fraud that hit the headlines about a decade earlier, was another. She welcomed the high-level probe ordered into her allegations by the government. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Home portfolio, talks volumes about transparency and corruption-free administration, but he too lowered the dignity of the Chief Minister's office", the JD (S) leader said.
