Burhan Anniversary: Militants attack army patrolling party in Hajin

Terrorists ambushed an army patrol injuring three soldiers including a captain in Hajin village even as the Kashmir valley remained under perpetual lockdown on the first death anniversary of Burhan Wani on Saturday.

An army patrol party came under attack near Army Goodwill School in Hajin area of the district early morning.

"Three soldiers including a captain suffered minor injuries".

Security forces immediately swung into action and launched the cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists.

Meanwhile, several towns in Kashmir have been put under restrictions ahead of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani's death anniversary. Notably, curfew is already in place in Tral region of Pulwama and Section 144 has been imposed in sensitive areas of Baramulla, Anantnag and Sopore.

The Jammu and Kashmir police had also directed internet service providers to completely suspend their services in Kashmir from Friday until further orders. Curfew-like restrictions were earlier imposed in parts of Kashmir to ward off protests called by separatists to mark the anniversary of Wani's killing in a gunfight with security forces past year.
