Bayern: 'Milan want Renato Sanches'

A much-vaunted player, Sanches won the Golden Boy award in 2016, and starred at Euro 2016, which Portugal won.

The 2017-18 race for the Scudetto is likely to be one of the best title races in Europe next season if AC Milan's summer recruitment plans are anything to go by. If he has another season like that, the midfielder could miss out on the World Cup in Russian Federation next summer. Adding to the arrival of Sebastian Rudy from TSG Hoffenheim as well, Sanches immediate future in Bavaria appears to be over.

However, despite struggling in his debut season, president Uli Hoeness has previously said Bayern should give Sanches another year to make the breakthrough at the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge "can confirm Milan interest in Renato Sanches, but there is no agreement yet".

Milan approached Bayern about signing Sanches on-loan, but it seems the German club would prefer a permanent deal.

The report claims that Milan want to take him on a two-year loan spell for €7 million, with the 'option to buy in 2019. 'But we did not get any further.

"I have the impression that AC Milan is not ready to meet our economic demands, and as long (as that continues) nothing will be done". It was not just about lending.

AC Milan are likely to face opposition from a number of Premier League clubs, with both Chelsea and Manchester United likely to be alerted by Rummenigge's comments. At the price their CEO quoted, you would wonder if Jose Mourinho would be interested in signing the midfielder.
