White House deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka on Wednesday sparred with CNN's Anderson Cooper, insisting the Russian Federation story was "fake news" and debunking reports the Trump administration was paralyzed by the fallout over recent developments.

"It's laughable", he said.

Gorka: "No, I get really good prep from my team because the White House press team is superb".

COOPER: That was reporting was wrong and we corrected ourselves unlike the White House which has never corrected itself on anything. It is absolutely nothing of the kind. The president is a steam locomotive that will not be stopped.

When asked about President Donald Trump's lack of public appearances in recent days since The New York Times broke the story of his son's meeting past year, Gorka went on to slam CNN's "laughable" coverage. "That's not reportage. It's just fake news".

COOPER: Ok, I'm just going to ignore the insults because I don't think it really gets us anywhere.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper mocked Sebastian Gorka in a post-interview discussion on Wednesday night, calling the deputy adviser to President Trump "the Hungarian Don Rickles". Where are the Walter Cronkites of yesteryear. This is just about ratings and money.

He continued: "I stand by what the president and his son said".

Gorka maintained that Trump Jr. had been transparent about the meeting since The New York Times first reported on it over the weekend. He only published these emails because The New York Times got the emails and was gonna publish them and he smartly got ahead of it.

Gorka insisted Russian Federation "only has legs because the fake news industrial complex is obsessed" with it, whereas no one in the "fake news media" cares that the Democratic National Committee received information from the Ukraine. "Nine months of accusations with zero evidence of anything actually illegal!"

Gorka charged. "But why aren't you?" Because there never were witches - and there never was any collusion.

"He certainly watched Donald Trump, Jr. on Fox-and tweeted about it", Cooper noted.

Cooper seemed unamused, "Oh, Jesus.", before circling back to the subject of Trump Jr.'s emails.

". He didn't just release his e-mails.?"

Gorka deflected again, saying that Cooper sounded like a "broken record".

"I'm not getting any answers from you", Cooper said.

Later in the show, Cooper's panel discussed the interview as Democratic strategist Paul Begala said "the only reason [Gorka] insulted you is because he can't answer the question".

"You're responding, but you're not answering".

Gorka: "Tucker Carlson get 4 million viewers!"
