Real Madrid and Chelsea agreed terms over a transfer for the Spain worldwide on Wednesday, believed to be in the region of £70million ($118M).

For much of the summer he looked set for Manchester United but Morata said: 'The most important thing is that I am here to play for Chelsea.

The out of favour Diego Costa is in talks to return to Atletico Madrid, leaving coach Antonio Conte with only Michy Batshuayi and Loic Remy as viable senior options.

Morata will be Chelsea's third major signing of the summer having already acquired Germany defender Antonio Rüdiger (£29 million) and France midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko (£40 million). Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches in the world, so I'm happy to work with Antonio.

Morata made just 26 appearances for Zinedine Zidane's team last season.

Morata, who still needs to undergo a medical with the Premier League champions, has now explained that he opted to leave the Santiago Bernabeu because he wants to "grow up".

"I've won four titles, among them my second Champions League with Madrid".

"Again, I do not think I'm going back to Madrid, I find it hard and for now it's not something that I am considering".

"Lukaku knows Jose Mourinho from when they worked together at Chelsea".

With United unwilling to reach Real's asking price, Old Trafford then turned their attention to Lukaku, who also happened to be Chelsea's number one summer transfer window target.

Morata isn't far behind the frontrunners, but at 8/1 (9.0) he clearly has more of a job to convince the bookmakers of his credentials in the upcoming campaign.

"It has been a pleasure to play for Madrid, and I will always be with them apart from when they play Chelsea".

Man. United signed Lukaku from Everton for £75m while Arsenal got Alexander Lacazette from Olympique Lyon for a club-record £52m.

One of the best leagues in the world and I'm so happy to be here.

The Blues are 10/11 (1.91) to be the top London club though, ahead of Tottenham who are available at 11/5 (3.20) ahead of their move to Wembley.
