The NBA champion Golden State Warriors unanimously agreed to skip the customary White House visit, according to reports, although the team hasn't yet commented.

The win came three days after the Cavs snapped the Warriors' flawless streak this postseason.

Durant, the MVP of the Finals, had 39 points, and Curry added 34 for the Warriors, who captured the best-of-seven series 4-1 against the defending champions.

Durant was named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals on Monday after claiming an elusive NBA championship over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

She fueled the fire even more when she seemingly yelled "Brick" while Durant was at the free throw line, which resulted in a major showdown between the two for the rest of the game. "I was anxious, I was jittery". He crossed over between the two most prominent generations of basketball and I think most people lump him in with Bill Russell more then they do Magic Johnson.

"I put in the work individually, in the film room, in my mind, my body every single day to prepare myself for whatever obstacle that this ball club entails", James said. "We were really good tonight".

Stephen Curry was still smiling and laughing about Golden State Warriors' second National Basketball Association title in three seasons when he made it clear the Warriors think they are just getting started hoisting trophies.

Durant likely would be sacrificing $3.5 million on next year's deal, but such a sacrifice would keep not only the Warriors' core together but also maintain important role players on a championship team. Asked if he had any joy that his friend Kevin Durant finally won a championship, James said, "Well, I'm not happy he won his first".

This was the third NBA Finals in a row pitting LeBron's Cleveland Cavaliers versus Steph Curry's Warriors.

Durant - drafted as second-overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007 - was an easy choice for the Finals MVP.

Back in 2015, the Warriors did pay a visit to a Barack Obama-governed White House after capturing the organization's first title in 40 years.

Curry shot 10 of 20 and completed a double-double with a game-high 10 assists. A record 73 wins previous year.

"I'm proud of you, son", she said. "I've been so lucky to be part of so many championship teams as a player and now as a coach, and it never gets old. But we prevailed, we're champions and it's unbelievable doing it on our home floor".

You don't need this, but I'm a Kobe guy, I can't help it.

"I ain't got to say nothing", Durant said, as if that was all he had to say.
