Warriors Rumors: Andre Iguodala To "Seriously Consider" Leaving In Free Agency

Stephen Curry is a free agent, while Kevin Durant could opt out of his contract. In his first year with Golden State, he and the Dubs defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the NBA Finals.

The 79-year-old Hall of Fame guard was an iconic star for the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA's logo is designed around his silhouette.

If Durant had chosen to exercise the player option, his salary would have been around $28 million for the upcoming season.

The reason? Durant may end up a little less rich but the Warriors should then have the capacity to re-sign Andre Iguodala, who hits the market as an unrestricted free agent this summer.

That will better enable the Warriors to keep together the championship roster that includes Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Georgian centre Zaza Pachulia and reserves.

Durant, like Curry, is eligible for a much more lucrative long-term extension, a maximum contract worth 35% of the salary cap, but the team is only allowed to give such a deal to one player each off-season.

"For them to want me to come here and maybe think I can help, I am really flattered", West said.

Iggie could very well leave the Warriors and they could still win without him.

Iguodala has immersed himself in the tech scene since joining the Warriors four seasons ago.

A team spokesman said senior vice president of basketball operations Trent Redden is also not returning.

Iguodala was once again a key contributor in the postseason, averaging 7.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists. At the conclusion of last season, Curry was the Warriors' fourth-highest paid player at $12.1 million, trailing Durant, Thompson and Green.
