Warriors beat Cavs to take 2-0 Finals series lead

If "King" James and the Cavaliers don't take advantage at Oracle Arena, the Warriors will stretch their National Basketball Association playoff win streak record to 14 games and could become the first champions to run undefeated through the playoffs by winning Wednesday and Friday in Cleveland.

James was equally spectacular with his own triple-double of 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds, but yet again didn't get almost enough help to keep up with the Warriors' depth. Golden State G Klay Thompson played in his 78th career playoff game, breaking a tie with SG Jeff Mullins for the most in Warriors franchise history. So why wasn't he going to speak at the podium?

Kevin Love and LeBron James have combined for 27 for the Cavaliers. "You guys asked me 'What was the difference?" "There's a reason", he told Dave. If you want to run up and down, particularly in this building, with this team, you want to have a controlled fast break at times. Chud followed up. "No".

James: No. It has nothing to do with wins and losses, though.

Kevin Love provided a needed scoring boost in Game 2 after Kyrie Irving did the same in Game 1 but nearly no one else came through, sending the Cavs to a 132-113 loss and an 0-2 series deficit. The only teams to rally from 2-0 down in The Finals are Boston (over the L.A. Lakers) in 1969, Portland (over Philadelphia) in 1977, Miami (over Dallas) in 2006. and of course, Cleveland over the Warriors last season. The problem was they couldn't stop Golden State's high-powered attack. "When we're going off and coming off into isolation, they're bringing a few extra bodies to crowd the lane".

"They're going to try to get their 3-point shooters going and rebound the ball". "That's what they do. But Golden State can play better". "If you make a mistake - we had a turnover, it came from me, and then we had a miscue and the floods opened again". Golden State leads the series 1-0 after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-91. An off-balance KD flicked the ball up while falling backward and being fouled by Love and got a lucky bounce for a three-point play 7:04 before halftime just after Love had hit a 3 on the other end. "I just like who he is as a person, and throughout the course of the playoffs I've checked on him and we text and talk", Lue said.

Curry contributed two free throws and three assists to the 13-2 burst. He missed some chippies - ones he's so accustomed to making. "They've been out there talking a lot about trying to keep a body on him, a couple of bodies on him", James noted.

It is a unusual reality, but the kid from Akron has never won the first game in a Finals series in which he has taken home the championship trophy as well as the Finals MVP. It started with getting to the basket early and taking good shots. I think tonight I was just in a good rhythm.

Works for me. And finally. "Trust me, we know".

How good was the dunk?
