Hello, Dolly! was named Best Revival of a Musical Sunday and also earned the accolade for Best Costume Design.

Broadway enjoyed a record-breaking season thanks to last year's Tony victor, pop culture juggernaut "Hamilton", and musicals like "Hello, Dolly!' and 'Come From Away", which won a Tony for director Christopher Ashley. Andy Blankenbuehler won his second choreography Tony in as many years - last year for "Hamilton" and this time for "Bandstand". Nixon was one of the most politically outspoken winners, giving a shout-out to people who refuse to just stand by and watch when bad things happen in the world. Stephen Colbert made an appearance to cheer Spacey on.

"To the ladies and gentlemen of the Oslo Accords who believed in democracy, who believed in seeing peace, seeing their enemies as humans, I give this up to them", said Rogers.

Spacey, the host of the program, put on a semiconvincing Bill Clinton impersonation, sneaking in a plug for "House of Cards", his Netflix show, before talking directly to Ben Platt, the star of "Dear Evan Hansen". Spacey, dressed as Close, sang "I'm coming out." and then paused, tantalizingly.

During the final moments of the awards show, Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Michael Kelly came out on stage as their House of Cards characters to give Lin-Manuel Miranda the envelope to announce the Best Musical victor. He won his first best orchestration award for "In the Heights" in 2008.

"A couple of problems: main character is totally unbelievable and the hair and make-up - yeesh, no", the host of The Late Show said.
