Robertson and Freeman stood next to head coach Paul Mainieri crying at both the jubilation of reaching College Baseball's Mecca, and knowing it would be the last time they would ever play on the turf at Alex Box Stadium.

Burke Masters will deliver the CWS Father's Day Mass for the Knights of Columbus Sports Council honoring veterans and President George H.W. Bush on his 70th anniversary of his appearance in the 1947 CWS while playing first base for Yale. That's what's on the bill for Saturday, June 17 and opening day from Omaha as LSU and Florida State are set to square off.

"We made mistakes. We pay for them", FSU coach Mike Martin said. Wells' throw into the infield was wild and Freeman made a decision to try and score from first base.

Duplantis' comments: "When I singled in the eighth, I thought we would have runners at first and third". We didn't play great, but we still found a way to win.

"We've had some pretty good teams go up there, but we didn't get to come back with much", Mainieri said after Monday's 14-4 win to clinch a super regional title. He is 7-5 with a 3.29 ERA and lead the SEC with 112 innings pitched. He will need to showcase more of that control against an Oregon State lineup filled with patient hitters. I don't think there's any pressure on us going into Monday.

"Any time you go up there to take the first four pitches, you kind of get your timing down", the Cal State Fullerton senior said.

LSU was down 4-3 against FSU starter Tyler Holton (10-3) when a freaky sequence turned the game in the eighth. Freeman advanced to third and Duplantis moved to second when rightfield Steven Wells misplayed the ball. A relay throw looked to have LSU's Cole Freeman gunned at the plate, but Raleigh dropped the ball which allowed him to score.

"When you run our three starters out there and you've got a guy at the end and you've got a couple of other guys out there in the middle, then you just figure out ways to win", O'Sullivan said. "Things kept happening and I kept running".

Deichman, who was 0-for-3 with a pair strikeouts on the night, came through with a clutch two-strike RBI single through the right side of a drawn-in infield to plate Duplantis and give the Tigers a 5-4 lead heading to the ninth inning.

The Seminoles (45-22) got off to a hot start with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning by junior third baseman Dylan Busby. Colton Eastman relieved starter Connor Seabold and proceeded to allow four runs on four walks with no hits allowed in 0.2 innings. Lange walked Taylor Walls to start the game, and then Busby cleared the wall in dead center with his team-leading 15th homer of the season. And gutsy, out of the box decision victor to Mainieri, whose team got a win even though its starter and ace Lange did not throw well as he walked four and allowed seven hits and four earned runs. He went to a three-ball count with five of them, allowed four walks and watched a run come home a sacrifice fly to center field off the bat of two-hole hitter Nick Madrigal. They didn't point fingers or said they couldn't get a break.

"We're in Omaha, baby", Martin said.
