Following the euphoric celebrations, the ex-Man Utd ace spotted a mock picture on Instagram showing arch-rival Lionel Messi presenting him with his fifth Ballon d'Or.

The six-year-old joined his dad on the Millennium Stadium pitch after Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 to win back-to-back Champions League triumphs.

"The Ballon d'Or should be his as these are the games that define players". "He had a spectacular end to the season".

"The team has worked hard from the first minute...we have done a marvellous double".

The Madrid president admitted that in the end he had to suffer somewhat.

"He is the only one to win two consecutive Champions Leagues", added Perez.

It capped off a memorable campaign, during which Zinedine Zidane's men won four trophies, including La Liga.

He previously won the Ballon d'Or in 2008 as a Manchester United player and in 2013.

"I wouldn't know where to start, for the players, the coach, the fans".

"This is what we are here for".

On a glorious night for Real Madrid, Casemiro and Marco Asensio were also on the score sheet to obliterate Mario Mandzukic's stunning overhead kick that had Juve level at the break.

"It is the best thing that could happen", said Colombian shop worker Jose Ordonez, 54, who took in the festivities with his two sons.

"I hope to return many more times and that we can celebrate many more titles".
