The scammer says an active arrest warrant is in the recipient's name and says they need send money to resolve the matter or else they'd be arrested. He says new technology allows scammers to make any telephone number they wish to appear on someone's caller ID, which in some situations may help in trying to convince the caller that the call is legitimate. "Never give someone access to your computer unless you have called them with a problem", said the HCSO in a warning posted to the organization's Facebook page. The person has a male voice and is telling people to purchase Green Dot cards from Kroger and read the numbers over the phone.

The phone number the scammer is calling from is 513 299 7859, which is not associated with the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
