The 26-year-old midfielder, voted Fulham's player of the year last season, has always been linked with a move back to the Premier League.

The Scotland global, 26, hit 13 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances for Fulham this past season, whilst serving as the club's vice-captain behind Scott Parker.

And the Scotland global has backed himself to get to the Premier League and to perform at a high level in the top flight.

"Every player has to back themselves to play at that level and I believe once I get there - and I hope it's with Fulham - I really will show I can do things at that level", Cairney said.
