Keith Urban wins big at CMT Awards, Underwood makes history

Presenters included an A-list roster of music industry giants and Hollywood heavy-hitters including Ashton Kutcher ("The Ranch"), Clare Bowen ("Nashville"), Danny Masterson ("The Ranch"), Dustin Lynch, Hoda Kotb ("Today Show"), Jada Pinkett Smith ("Girls Trip"), Johnny Galecki ("Big Bang Theory"), Josh Henderson ('The Arrangement"), Katherine Heigl ("The Nut Job 2: "Nutty by Nature"), Kathie Lee Gifford ("Today Show"), Kid Rock, Rachel Bilson ("Nashville"), RaeLynn, Reba McEntire along with country music personalities Bobby Bones and CMT's Cody Alan and Katie Cook.

Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker will pay tribute to Gregg Allman, who died last month.

Ashton Kutcher, Jada Pinkett Smith and Katherine Heigl will be among the presenters at the awards show Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennesssee, where performers will include Earth, Wind & Fire, Peter Frampton and the Chainsmokers, who pre-taped their set with Florida Georgia Line on Tuesday night.

Florida Georgia Line and The Chainsmokers combined the best of both worlds for a collaboration performance of their track, "Last Day Alive", atop the brand new FGL House venue in the heart of downtown Nashville.

The Grammy-winning act is among the performers of the night, which includes Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Brett Eldredge, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Luke Bryan will sing with Jason Derulo, while Earth, Wind & Fire will join Lady Antebellum and Frampton will perform with Brothers Osborne. Miranda Lambert celebrated the power of pink plastic with the world premiere performance of "Pink Sunglasses" in front of thousands of fans adorning their own beloved pink shades.

Band member Karen Fairchild thanked the group's fans onstage "for making this such a big hit".

Lauren Alaina, who placed second on "American Idol" in 2011, won breakthrough video of the year for her No. 1 hit, "Road Less Traveled".

He also gave a shout-out to his two daughters, Sunday 8, and Faith, 6.

"I should have said that first. Sorry God", she said.
