Bottom-ranked Pakistan produced a breathtaking display at London's Oval on Sunday in the climax of a tournament featuring the world's top eight one-day worldwide nations.

Amid the general exultation, praise was reserved for India skipper Virat Kohli who showed grace in defeat during the post-match presser.

'Also, if you look at the South Africa series (which England won 2-1 last month), they had two fantastic games and then a game where they didn't turn up - so they can put in the odd bad performance'.

Pakistan today jumped two places to sixth in the ICC ODI team rankings following their title triumph at the Champions Trophy while the finalists India remained at number three.

"We were in the knockout stage but no one gave us a chance". They are first-time offenders. This is the least we could do.

No team was expecting eight ranked Pakistan to bring such a laurel in the tournament, the legendary cricket said, adding that Pakistani youngsters proved it otherwise.

"Fakhar is a great impact player, he played like a champion batsman today", Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed said at the presentation ceremony.

Sarfraz spoke about the benefits of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

With their inability to host top worldwide sides on home soil due to security concerns and a spot-fixing controversy blighting their domestic T20 league, Sunday's win provided the country's cricket fans with some much-needed cheer. The players have also been invited to visit the Senate with the trophy to honour them for their victory.
