Hartal called by BJP 'incident free'? ? ?

CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged that it was after the visit of BJP chief Amit Shah that the violence had suddenly spiked in Kerala.

The BJP called for the dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Kozhikode to protest against the attacks on party offices during a CPM hartal on Friday.

BJP offices were attacked by CPM members during their march protesting the attack against CPM district secretary. Police department came to the rescue of passengers stranded at Kozhikode Railway station by providing them vehicle towards Medical College.

Two photographers including P. Saneesh of The New Indian Express were attacked reportedly by CPI (M) activists at Palayam and their cameras destroyed when they tried to take pictures of the hartal.

Hartal supporters forcibly downed shutters of shops in the city and suburbs. Private vehicles including two wheelers were stopped and some vehicles were also pelted with stones.

The attack comes two days after unidentified persons hurled a "petrol" bomb at the BJP's district office in Thiruvananthapuram. Another bomb remained unexploded in the premises.The miscreants who entered the party office compound through t. The CPI (M) claimed that the RSS was behind it. Mohanan master had a narrow escape from the attack.
