Pelfrey is enjoying a rebirth of sorts in his first year as a member of the White Sox, limiting opponents to a.225 average and posting a 1.69 ERA over his last four starts.

The Orioles were putting runners on all night but not pushing them home.

The Baltimore Orioles were embarrassed in a weekend series at Yankee Stadium and will try to end their free fall when they begin a four-game set at the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Still, tonight's was a big one. "I've been feeling good, I've been taking a lot of good swings, it just wasn't coming through". I kind of got out of my rhythm. Guys are pushing, pushing, and just scoring one run - you can't put it all on one inning.

Matt Davidson hit his first career grand slam, Derek Holland scattered eight hits over six innings and the Chicago White Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1 on Tuesday night on the South Side.

Avisail Garcia and Kevan Smith each had two hits and three RBIs while Melky Cabrera had three hits and two runs scored.

The White Sox hit Asher for two runs in the fourth.

The Orioles (31-32) are trying to shake out of a slump that has seen them drop six straight games and eight of their last 10. Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters. "I think we're looking forward to seeing what he can do".

Showalter's avoidance is understandable. During their five-game losing streak, the Orioles have been outscored by a whopping margin of 54-16.

While you were watching the Major League Baseball draft or just staring at Twitter, the White Sox (27-35) offense exploded out of their doldrums and continued their reign of terror over Orioles starter Wade Miley. He pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings May 7.

Miley did not mince words when it came to his performance.

"I knew it when I hit it", Davidson said. "That game's on me". Asher have struggled in recent starts as well, allowing 13 runs over his last 12.1 innings.

"He gave us what he could", White Sox manager Rick Renteria said of Pelfrey. "It's been a good run, and hopefully he adds to it as the season progresses". He allowed a run and five hits over seven innings.

Baltimore trimmed the deficit to 6-2 in the fourth. Garcia then doubled to the left-center gap to score both runners. Rickard doubled into the left-field corner to open the game, went to third when Jones sacrificed himself with a bunt, and scored on a line drive off the left-field wall by Machado.

Frazier is aware of rumors but he carries on like a good teammate would - as though he will be a White Sox for a while.

Matt Davidson had an RBI single and solo homer.

Rizzo, batting leadoff for the first time in his career, had two hits, three RBIs and a bases-loaded walk. The 25-year-old has a 1.62 ERA in nine relief appearances this season, but he is 1-3 with a 6.20 ERA in five games as a starter.

Jose Abreu went 3-for-4 and Avisail Garcia had a two-run double as Chicago won its second straight after dropping nine of 11.

White Sox: RHP Nate Jones had a second MRI after symptoms of neuritis in his pitching elbow returned, putting his rehabilitation on hold.
