Emmy Rossum was stunned by bikini audition request

"Even as recently as a year ago, my agent called me and was like, 'I'm so embarrassed to make this call, but there's a big movie, and they're gonna offer it to you", Rossum explained. They really love your work on the show.

"I was at a health food store in Canada", she remembered, "And this little girl who worked there came up to me and was like, 'What you did for gender equality really meant so much to me'".

In what sounds like a real-life casting-couch porno opener, Emmy Rossum tells the Hollywood Reporter that a director asked her to audition for a role simply by wearing a bikini. Then she realized the director may have wanted to see her swimwear in person because "he wanted to know if I was fat now", she said. "That was basically the question". "I guess there was a moment where I thought, 'Oh, God, is everyone going to hate me?' And then I felt like, 'Who cares?' Whatever anybody takes away from it is a reflection on them, not you". She still gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked to see the script, thinking that maybe the role did involve having to wear a bikini in the movie.

"Not naked in the movie", Rossum reiterated. 'We really love your work, but we just want to see how tight your ass is.' Are you fucking kidding me? "Last time I checked, I'm not a f**king model". Her quest was successful, and Rossum told The Hollywood Reporter that Macy was actually her biggest champion through the process. "I had never kissed a boy", she said.

Of course, the pay gap came up because of Rossum's recent victory over at Shameless, earning pay parity with co-star William H. Macy. To have the man counterpart on my show be like, "Yes, she does deserve this and more" was so validating. These are different times (thankfully) and it seemed to help Rossum to have her dispute made public, whether that was done by a member of her own team or someone else.

"I think it should be equal opportunity P and D", Rossum added.

'And I found some strength of this me, now, where I said, "I don't feel comfortable doing that". "The scene is over, and I have a towel on, and the director comes over to me and he goes, 'Pam, it would be really amusing if you dropped the towel and we could just see your butt, like, really fast, '" she remembers. When you consider everything from star power to longevity on the show, all they were asking for was something fair and worthy of their talent.
