Barcelona reportedly want Marco Verratti to push for a summer move away from PSG, who are desperate to ward off interest in their star midfielder.

Verratti wants a club that can challenge for the Champions League and there appear to be two very clear options going forward.

Earlier this week, agent Donato Di Campli confirmed that his client is pondering his future after Paris Saint-Germain failed to improve in recent years.

The Gazzetta dello Sport write that the Ligue 1 side's president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has put his foot down and won't sell the Italian.

The 24-year-old has always been linked with a move to the Camp Nou with the belief he can be the long-term replacement for Xavi Hernandez. Should the meeting take place, it will be for the second time as a meeting did take place in Formentera a year ago. According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Chelsea have also made a bid of €65m (£57.4m, $72.8m) for Verratti.

Barcelona are also aware that the 24-year-old is also wanted by a host of other clubs which are said to include the English Premier League duo of Chelsea and Manchester United, along with the Italian giants of Juventus.

Di Campli apparently reiterated Verratti's desire to leave and presented an offer from Barcelona who are willing to offer PSG €100m and Verratti a deal worth €10m a season, excluding bonuses.

The defender has spent the season on loan at the Nou Camp from Fluminense.
