One interesting touch is the way the game seems to position this conflicts as a part of the war - at one point in the trailer a team is shown arriving together on the back of a truck and disembarking together. Armed with an arsenal of iconic Allied and Axis weaponry, players are immersed in brutal gameplay as they fight to liberate a continent in the throes of tyranny. Call of Duty fans will undoubtedly like what they see- but the question of whether the fanbase that has felt alienated with recent entries in the series will find the new game up to par remains up for debate.

It's undoubtedly impressive - both from a visual standpoint, and a technical one - and those pining for a Battlefield 1-styled return to the 20th century can look forward to Call of Duty: WWII's launch with bated breath.

Call of Duty: WW2 developers fundamental redesign of the multiplayer, giving players the opportunity to choose from five divisions, each of which will have their own skills.

The trailer shows the sort of intense WW2 battles you might remember from the early Call of Duty games, updated with modern visuals. A private pre-order beta starts on PS4 on August 25th, ahead of the game's November 3rd release.

I think we all know the Call of Duty franchise as a whole has been slipping the last few years. And secondly, it wasn't exactly "gameplay"-the camera work and editing clearly mask what the true CoD:WWII multiplayer experience looks like".
