Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Trial: Jury Deliberates for Third Day

The defense teased the idea of calling Cosby to the stand, but chose not to in the end. I have no reason to doubt that the accounts of the more than 60 women who have come forward with allegations against Cosby are completely foreign to Pulliam's own experiences with the man.

Pulliam added that Cosby has still been in "good spirits" during her interactions with him. She had been present during the first two days of deliberations.

Over the past three days, the jury in Bill Cosby's criminal trial has deliberated whether the comedian is guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. A mass murderer is still a person, a child pornographer is still a person, and yes, in Cosby's case specifically, a serial sexual abuser is still a person.

The trial started on June 5.

Cosby maintained in his deposition that he gave Constand the antihistamine Benadryl to relieve stress and had consensual relations, accusing her of lying. Prosecutors have suggested he gave her something stronger- perhaps Quaaludes, a highly popular party drug in the 1970s that was banned in the U.S.in 1982. In a transcript read in court, the comedian said, "I never meant to have sexual intercourse with Andrea".

She woke up on the couch early in the morning with her clothes disheveled, she said. She got the show tickets because her family loved Cosby, and she hadn't yet told them about the alleged assault. "It wasn't an angry stop. I wasn't shocked since, this was exactly what Andrea said she could do, and so she did".

Constand was challenged by Angela Agrusa, one of Cosby's attorneys.

Accuser Constand and her mother sat in the gallery as the interview was read.

MacGregor said it's likely that they are arguing over what was said in the courtroom - and that may go to Constand's credibility. "Although I can not recall the specific year, there was an occasion I recall the television was on".

They also wanted to hear Cosby's wording when he referred to the three pills as "friends", as well as Constand's initial statements to authorities in Canada.

Ms. Constand has claimed that after taking the pills, she passed out.

The transcripts also revisited the alleged assault in graphic detail, how Constand described waking up to Cosby's hands touching her body, specifically how he slipped his finger in and out of her vagina. "Her eyes were...all over and she was anxious", he said.

The 79-year-old Cosby faces three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault stemming from the encounter at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele closed the prosecution's case Monday by describing Cosby - who turns 80 next month - as a calculating sexual predator, while Brian McMonagle, one of Cosby's lawyers, highlighted Constand's inconsistencies and those of Kelly Johnson, the other accuser who testified last week on Constand's behalf. This is the first time Cosby has faced criminal charges.
