Afghan soldier killed, several United States soldiers wounded in incident at Army base

At least three U.S. soldiers were injured after an Afghan soldier allegedly opened fire on United States troops Saturday in Dehdadi district in Balkh province.

The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan confirmed no fatalities in the insider attack involving an Afghan soldier in northern Afghanistan.

"An Afghan soldier shot and killed four American troops inside the base", said a statement by a military.

Abdul Qahar Araam, spokesman for the 209th Army corps, confirmed Saturday that an insider attack took place at a camp in Mazar-e Sharif.

The motive for the incident and the identity of the foreign forces is not known yet.

According to Afghan news agency Pajhwok Afghan News, four North Atlantic Treaty Organisation soldiers were killed in attack by an Afghan soldier in northern Balkh province and details were awaited. USA soldiers have been wound.
