Vinicius Junior, 16, joins Real Madrid, deal worth '€45m'

The reigning Champions League victor real Madrid announced the purchase of striker "Flamengo" Vinicius Junior.

It has been his performances for the Brazilian junior sides, that has caused such a furore around Vinicius Junior.

Sixteen-year-old Brazilian boy Vinicius Jr - who has already been dubbed "The new Neymar" - has had his playing rights sold to Spanish football giants Real Madrid for $67million.

"Maybe we'll have a lot of players here, maybe not. we'll see in the next few days".

Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United were also linked with Vinicius Junior, who has played only 17 minutes for Flamengo's first team having only made his senior debut earlier this month.

Per the team's official release, Vinicius Junior will remain with his current club, Brazilian side Flamengo, until July of 2019, although he may make the move to Madrid one year earlier if both sides agree to the decision. Of this amount, Flamengo will receive 27.5 million in the European currency, and the remainder is distributed to the taxes and fees from the transfer.

He only renewed his contract with Flamengo last week after reportedly undergoing a medical at Madrid's behest.
