Kornbluth, who was a teacher at Somerset Academy Boca Raton and who turned 29 Tuesday, was arrested February 17 and charged with two counts of simple battery.

Disturbing new video shows a Florida teacher trading candy for kisses inside his elementary school classroom.

Police said the principal had the camera in Kornbluth's classroom repositioned so that it faced the teacher's desk.

According to WPEC, the video came out after a teacher told the principal that Kornbluth asked for certain male students to be part of his class.

Kornbluth was arrested in February but pleaded guilty last week to a battery charge.

The 10-year-old victim's sister told police Kornbluth had offered them gummy bears in exchange for kisses and that he had kissed her as well, 7News Miami reported. That's when surveillance cameras, which the principal purposely positioned to face Kornbluth's desk, caught him briefly kissing the student on the lips.

The one-year probation sentence means he could get the incident expunged from his record.

The police department has additionally received some backlash by critics who say the release of the video is inappropriate.

"Understandably, many folks have been asking about why we released a video in the 'teacher-student kissing case.' The short answer is because the media asked for it and we have to release it", Chief Dan Alexander said in a statement posted on Facebook.
