Both adults and 12 of the students have since been released, a Lancaster General Hospital spokesperson said Thursday.

At least one child was taken by helicopter ambulance to the hospital after a school bus rolled over in Lancaster County Wednesday morning.

Cameron Hoober, a student on the bus, said he heard a screech of tires and two loud bangs before the bus overturned. Do you think they need to tone it down? "That's a nerve-wracking time for any parent to have to go through", Lines added.

"Obviously, our first source is God and the strength that he provides in situations like this", said Lancaster Mennonite Superintendent Pam Tieszen.

Lancaster General Hospital confirms that 16 people have been taken to the hospital, 15 students and the driver.

Fritzi Schreffler of PennDOT says that one child was trapped beneath the vehicle and airlifted to a hospital.

The incident happened just before 8 Lincoln Highway East (Route 30) and Route 896 in East Lampeter Township, LancasterOnline reported. She said a driver in a light-colored sedan attempted to pass the oversize load and struck one of the escort cars, which then struck the bus.

Police said the unknown driver hit the back of the escort vehicle in East Lampeter Township, about 65 miles west of Philadelphia. "It's pretty much all hands on deck to locate the vehicle and hopefully have a conversation with the driver".

"We never really speculate on charges, but we can certainly say this crash has caused devastation", a spokesman said in a statement.

LMS director of marketing and communications Gary Hiller told MWR he did not know what the extent of the injuries were.

Lancaster Mennonite is a private Christian school, reports WPMT.
