Saudi to sign trade, political deals with U.S. during Trump's visit: FM

"He's already a president viewed skeptically by much of the world".

Mr Trump is also alleged to have "spontaneously" disclosed highly classified information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Mr Kislyak during a meeting at the White House last week.

The New York Times was the first to report on Tuesday about the discussion between Comey and Trump in February and the subsequent memo.

The Times report may present the clearest evidence yet that the president has tried to influence government investigations into links between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

"I think this is going to be important because it's supposed to translate into action on the ground, financial participation, troop participation, intelligence exchange". "He represents the United States, even if we are setting kind of a low bar for this trip - if he doesn't make mistakes". "Trump can get more with less pressure, and can get more if Saudi Arabia doesn't perceive you as a friend of Iran". "And while the pictures from the trip may be great, the White House can't change the headlines that will follow him wherever he goes".

With respect to the planned arms sales to Saudi Arabia, the list of high-tech weaponry includes THAAD missile interceptor system, combat ships, latest jet fighters, attack helicopters, laser-guided bombs, long-range artillery, etc. However, as a noted homebody, he might find it more hard to relax in a foreign capital than at his Mar-a-Lago resort where he has hosted several foreign dignitaries.

"When we look at Iran's policy, we don't look at personalities".

Trump has provided two very distinct perspectives when it comes to foreign policy: One who sees Americans are being taken "advantage of", wants to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and views North Atlantic Treaty Organisation as obsolete.

Saudi Arabia, for its part, is set to roll out an economic partnership plan with Washington and USA businesses that could include up to $40bn in infrastructure and tens of billions more in other investments in the US. Not Trump, though in truth his hostility to the North America Free Trade Agreement would have made either of those stops challenging.

Still, Trump does have one advantage.

"We will work with our allies, particularly USA, to see that Iran is made to act like a normal country", Jubeir said.

They are pre-disposed to the reset that Trump says he represents.

Ultimately, America will never be able to solve all of the problems the Middle East now faces, but we can exert leadership and influence in an aggressive way that will add to stability in the region. Trump and many officials in his administration agree that the nuclear deal is badly-drawn up and that Iran is playing a very unsafe role in the Syrian civil war. Many Saudis remember when Trump told CNN's Anderson Cooper that "Islam hates us", then watched as his administration attempted to impose a series of slapdash Muslim bans during his first 100 days in office.

The 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers including the United States was a major step toward ending Tehran's global isolation but raised serious concerns in Arab capitals. He is scheduled to hold a summit with Arab and Muslim leaders on Sunday.
