The event is produced and promoted by Huka in collaboration with the Village of Pemberton, Sunstone Group, Lil'wat Nation and Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

The 2017 Pemberton Music Festival has been cancelled.

Documents obtained by Global News show there will be no automatic refunds for tickets as "the festival is now in bankruptcy and has no ability to provide refunds for tickets purchased".

Ticketholders may file a proof of claim form with Ernst & Young, which is the festival's trustee in bankruptcy.

Documents show that hopeful attendees will not receive automatic refunds and will have to contact their bank or credit card issuer to determine whether one can be obtained. They should contact their bank or credit card issuer regarding a refund, the document says.

The festival also owes its creditors approximately $2.5 million U.S.

A weakened Canadian dollar and decreased ticket sales were blamed for the cancellation.
