Katy Perry dishes on Taylor Swift feud, "She started it!"

Katy Perry sets the record very, very, very straight in her Carpool Karaoke episode with host James Corden, and gives us sort of an insane amount of detail about what really went down between her and T-Swift. Inflaming it, we mean.

"There's a situation", Perry told Corden.

"She started it, and it's time for her to finish it".

Fast forward to now - after years of the media plumping up the narrative - and Perry is back with her own diss track, "Swish Swish," which features the lyrics, "Don't you come for me / No, not today / You're calculated / I got your number". And then she writes a song about me! "That's how you wanna deal with it?'" Katy said, somewhat angrily.

It's been quiet on the feud front for a while, but Katy caused a bit of a commotion on Friday with the release of her new single Swish Swish, believed to be her response to Bad Blood.

"You know, I think there's a couple ways to go about answering that question". "There [were] three backing dancers that went on [Taylor's] tour... and they asked me if they could go and I was like, 'Yeah of course, '" recalled the "Bon Appétit" singer. "It's all about karma". After the dancers talked to those in charge of Swift's touring, Perry said, they were fired.

Looks like James Corden can add "celeb beef mediator" to his CV as he expertly got to the bottom of one of Hollywood's most famous feuds last night.

However, Perry is ready for the beef to be "taken off the grill", should Swift text her and apologize.

This is the first time either singer has addressed the other by name when discussing the on-going drama.

"I think the greatest thing we can do now is just unite as people, as fan bases, all of it". Now, here's where Perry is her own worst enemy: by implying to Corden that Swift was perhaps petty or wrong in writing "Bad Blood", she appears hypocritical because she allegedly has done exactly the same thing for exactly the same reasons with "Swish Swish". "And trust me daddy, there's going to be a reaction". Swift, she told Corden, was the one who refused to communicate.

Asked if the hatchet will ever be buried, Katy says that if women come together they can heal the world, or something of the like, which her publicist will surely be pleased with.
