Jennifer Lawrence's 'Mother!' Gets First Look With New Character Poster

Even though we still don't know much, it sounds like everyone is super pumped (and kind of scared) for "mother!" thanks to this poster.

While the tabloid press has managed to dig up details of the romance that developed between the director and actress, no one is really sure what exactly the movie is supposed to be out.

The poster features Lawrence herself, painted in an nearly porcelain manner, holding her own heart in outstretched hands while blood trickles down her dress.

Mother sees Lawrence play opposite Javier Bardem as they play a couple dealing with uninvited guests.

The poster certainly seems to confirm that the film is indeed a thriller and a chiller.

In any case, we'll find out when Mother! hits theaters on October 13, 2017. And we're guessing closer to the latter.

This will mark Aronofsky's first feature as director since his 2014 Old Testament adaptation Noah, which starred Russell Crow in the title role and earned $US362.6 million worldwide.

The rest of the cast includes a mix of dramatic actors like Michelle Pfeiffer and Domhnall Gleeson, alongside comedian Kristen Wiig.
