However, Solaja Olufemi while testifying before the coroner inquest said the deceased was deeply sedated and was given an overdose of analgesic.

He said he had attended to Mr. Adeleke's daughter who was rushed to the hospital under convulsive condition, adding that the senator then appreciated his effort with a cash gift. I checked my phone and there were 16 missed calls from Adeleke, his friend Dipo Faborode and some other people in his house. "Whenever he was given prescription and he probably didn't complete his treatment in Abuja, I would administer the remaining".

Adedeji Adeleke, who represented the family at a press conference in Ede, Osun state, said the results released thus far were 'seriously compromised'. I returned back to the Adeleke residence by 9:30 am. I asked, "Is the person a doctor?' but he said no".

"After a while, I started treating him", he said.

"He mentioned various injections, so at that point I asked him if could lay his hands on the empty ampoules of the injections".

"I got to the senator's house around 4:33a.m. and I met him in pains with some oral drug and bottle water". I gave him heart massage but he was not responding normally, Dipo and I shouted which attracted others. I asked what the matter was and he told me he had been in pains for some hours and had also taken some drugs but the pain persisted.

"I quickly rushed to give him first aid of "cardiac massage", but I noticed that he didn't respond at all so, we screamed and other aides came in, took the vehicle out and they drove off to Biket Hospital where we were received by Dr Adenle Adebisi and the body of the senator was carried out on a stretcher".

Analgin has been banned by the Nigerian government for over 10 years according to the Chief Medical Director of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Professor Akeem Lasisi.

Sholaja said after an examination was carried out on Adeleke's body, it was discovered that the drugs which were administered on him in excess quantity caused his death as his breathing was blocked due to a side effect.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a coroner's inquest is an inquiry into the manner and cause of an individual's death, conducted by a coroner or deputy coroner with a court reporter and six jurors present.

Laoye-Tomori tendered her manifest for April 22, which stated that she and the late Adeleke were said to have sat side by side at the burial of the grandmother of Mr. Amobi Akintola, the APC senatorial Chairman in Osun West senatorial district, as an exhibit before the coroner chairman, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara.
