Henry and Evelyn are Minnesota's most popular baby names

Emma and Noah are America's most popular baby names, for the third year in a row. Does your baby's name make the cut? Liam and Mia were the No. 1 names for boys and girls in the Garden State in 2016, while Noah ranked No. 2 and Emma earned the No. 3, right behind Olivia.

Nationally, Emma was the top selection for a girl name previous year.

After finishing second on the list in 2015, Charlotte has moved to the top of the list for girls, with 90 receiving that name in 2016, 20 more than second-place Emma. At the time of a child's birth, parents supply the name to the agency when applying for a child's Social Security card. In 1960 the top names in the country were David and Mary. This may be attributed to Kehlani Parrish, a singer-songwriter who was nominated for a Grammy in 2016.

Kehlani rose to number 872 from number 3,359 in 2015. As for why Kylo jumped so many spots, the administration thinks the popularity of Star Wars might have something to do with it since there's a character in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", by the name of Kylo Ren.
