The Mi6 houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (clock speed of 2.45GHz and Adreno 540 GPU); Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus and Sony XZ Premium also house the same chipset.

Like many recent high-end phones, there's also a 12-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. The first variant will be of 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM at the price of around Rs.23,500 and the other one will be of 128GB internal storage and 6GB RAM which will be around of Rs.27,000.

Precisely crafted like a watch, Mi 6 seamlessly integrates four-sided 3D curved glass and a stainless steel frame.

On the audio side, it's worth noting that Xiaomi made a decision to ditch the headphone jack for the Mi 6, with the reason being it wanted to offer a cleaner look (ugh), which is why you'll find a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter in the box. Compared with the last-generation Snapdragon 820, Snapdragon 835 is 35 percent smaller in package size and consumes 25 percent less power, which contributes to a longer battery life on Mi 6. It will be priced at around $360 for the 64GB model, $420 for the 128GB model, and there is a version with 128GB of storage and a ceramic back that will cost around $435. The Mi 6 will be available in China to begin with. It runs MIUI 8, which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

Lei went on to give special credit to the engineers involved and said without innovation, Xiaomi, a company that started with a staff of about a dozen, would not have survived. The smartphone also includes Quick Charge 4.0 technology for fast charging.

Another advantage of the dual camera setup is the ability to shoot lovely portraits with out-of-focusbackgrounds. Another interesting feature on the Mi 6 is Bluetooth 5.0 which, apart from this device, is only present on Galaxy S8. It comes in three colours: white, purple, black, a silver edition with an "ultra reflective mirror finish" and a ceramic edition with 18-karat gold camera rims.

There are 4 versions of the Mi 6 up for grabs. The Mi 6 also supports 2x2 dual-WiFi system.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is powered by 3,350 mAh battery. The scanner is secretly concealed under the home button and covered by glass. Xiaomi also revealed that there will be an global release to "selected" markets in the future though the date and locations were withhold. While the company said that an worldwide release for "selected" markets will be announced at a later date, it will remain largely focused on its home turf and other emerging markets like India.
