Time for Martial to deliver - Mourinho

Anderlecht are fighting against the odds and the record books at Manchester United, but manager Rene Weiler believes his players can land a knockout blow in their Europa League quarter-final.

Some of the Anderlecht team then set off for a light jog around the park, while another group walked past the individual filming their exploits, with one player excitedly waving at the camera as he went past.

Speaking before today's Europa League quarter-final, second-leg against Anderlecht at Old Trafford, Mourinho was asked his thoughts on the France global and whether leaving him on the bench indicated he was not fully satisfied with him. "It would be lovely", Mourinho added.

"The same way I know what the players like, I think the players also know what I like". Rooney missed that match with an ankle injury and hasn't played for United since their 0-0 English Premier League draw with West Brom, at the start of the month. I can not say every match is for one or another.

"We are together for nearly 10 months".

José Mourinho has warned Anthony Martial he needs to learn from the example of Marcus Rashford and improve his attitude if he wants to find a way back into Manchester United's first-team plans.

Rashford got the scoring started in United's 2-0 victory over Chelsea last Sunday in what will likely be manager Jose Mourinho's most satisfying result at Old Trafford to date. The same way I know the players much better now, the players should know me much better.

Mourinho does not seem to be thrilled with Anthony Martial this season, as he has only scored three goals all year in league play. That's why United have never won the Europa League, and why I won it in the only year I played in the competition, back in 2002/03.

Anything can happen in cup competition, but United should have put the game away in the first-leg, if it wasn't for the usual problem of poor finishing that has cost them throughout the season.

Asked twice if he is happy with Mkhitaryan, Mourinho gave the same pointed answer. I always think that football is a lot about motivational levels and, of course, playing the leaders is always a challenge.

With Mourinho's side struggling to break into the Premier League's top four this campaign, the Europa League presents a great opportunity.
