An emotional Isaiah Thomas finished with a game-high 33 points, along with six rebounds and six assists.

Butler scored 23 points in the second half. "Tonight, our job was easy". "We all believe in each other, and that has led to us playing a lot better of late". I think he's always had that leadership mentality.

"I could even hear Rondo, like, 'Yeah, they gave up". Have failed to score 100 points in three of their last four postseason games dating back to a year ago.

"I don't know what it is". "One thing I learned about this team is through adverse situations, this team sticks together".

The Bulls, 41-41 in the regular season, are attempting to become the sixth No. 8 seed to upset a No. 1 in the first round - and the first since the Philadelphia 76ers upset Chicago in the 2012 playoffs. Those fans booed their team on more than one occasion Tuesday, including as the final seconds ticked off. "So we all got to be prepared but, whatever it takes". As Bradley told reporters following the game, they can't continue this series with their heads down.

Although Chicago has a 2-0 lead, the series is far from over.

Boston's defense really had no answer for Bobby Portis and Jimmy Butler in Game 1. He also grabbed nine rebounds and Robin Lopez hauled down eight of his team's 20 offensive boards in the win. Rookie guard Malcolm Brogdon was also off, going three-of-11 from the floor. I was pretty aggressive (Game 1), but I got myself into some foul trouble.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 24 points and 15 rebounds. He was a minus-20.

Thomas shared a tearful moment with long-time friend and teammate, Avery Bradley, before Game 1.

Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler scored 22 points each, leading six Bulls players in double figures. Due to their inability to finish plays, Boston's opponents averaged 44.5 rebounds a night with 10.8 coming on the offensive glass. "It's not ideal, but we feel like we can bounce back", said Jae Crowder.

"We're never going to make excuses, but this is hard", said the Celtics' Al Horford.

The Bulls opened the best-of-seven series with a 106-102 win Sunday, on a night that could only be described as eerie after the death of Thomas's sister, Chyna, in a one-car accident in Washington.

At the time of Rondo's benching, Hoiberg said he was looking for more speed in the Bulls' game.

Milwaukee are one of the youngest teams in the National Basketball Association and their rising stars had an off night in Toronto.
