Complaint filed against Sonu Nigam over anti-Azaan tweets

The clip, which was shot during the Bhopal schedule of Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal (2016), has her saying, "When the film's shoot wrapped up for the day, I would always wait for the azaan in the evening".

A Hindustan Times report said one of the victims, Shivam Rai, had posted a message supporting Nigam's stand against the use of loudspeakers for azaan. Now, other two popular actors of television have reacted to Sonu's tweets. Equal regulations needed for temples, mosques, gurudwaras & churches. "Darbar added, "I am soon going to meet Sonu Nigam and ask him why he feels the azaan is so disturbing when he himself can't do without a mike. I think you should change your house and stay somewhere else instead of changing loud speakers".

She further tweeted, "And it's not about a particular religion, I don't support Ganesh Visarjan either, which spreads water pollution". "I used to have utmost respect for him but now I got zero admiration".

He wrote, "God bless everyone". A Kolkata-based cleric then wasted no time in announcing a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody who would tonsure Sonu Nigam and garland him with old shoes.

Anupam Kher, who first expressed his surprise on if at all Sonu Nigam literally had tweeted all that which led to the whole Azaan uproar on the internet, has now shared applause for the singer, who is still standing strong on what he tweeted. When will this forced religiousness end in India.
